Clean and Lean Orange Chicken and Sesame Broccoli


Happy weekend, ya’ll!

I have a super easy and delicious recipe to share with all of you.

Clean and Lean Orange Chicken and Sesame Broccoli

Serves 2-3

For the stir fry: 

2-3 small chicken breasts, cleaned and cut into small pieces and seasoned with s/p

1 head broccoli, chopped

1 onion, sliced

salt and pepper

2 T flour

1 T sesame seeds, toasted

2 T olive oil

For the orange sauce:

1 large orange, zested and juiced

2 T soy sauce

2 T olive oil

1 T ginger, minced

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tsp Apple cider vinegar

1-2 T honey

dash of pepper

  1. Zest orange into a bowl and squeeze the juice of the entire orange.  Add the olive oil, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, vinegar, honey and pepper.  Taste and adjust sweetness to your liking. 
  2. Marinate chopped chicken with half of the sauce for at least 30 minutes at room temperature
  3. Add flour to the rest of the sauce and set aside
  4. Heat oil over high heat in a wok.  Add the chicken and cook until almost done.  Add rest of the veggies and stir fry until broccoli is bright green.
  5. Add remaining sauce to the pan and heat until warm.
  6. Top with toasted sesame seeds
  7. Serve with brown rice.
  8. FEAST!


Alright friends, I’m off to put together a recipe for a wisconsin themed football party we’re going to tonight for the Packers/Vikings game.  I’m still brainstorming but I know you can’t go wrong with cheese/meat, right?  Have a great weekend!
